Itametais manufactures non-ferrous castings for critical industrial applications. We serve companies in Brazil and abroad, primarily across steelmaking, mining, ferroalloys, primary metals and other industrial sectors.

Our structure brings together casting, precision machining, special welding, engineering and quality control. These disciplines support each project from drawing or sample review through manufacturing, finishing and final inspection.

Beyond manufacturing a part, we seek to understand how the equipment operates so that materials, processes and controls can be defined for the application.

Our history

Family-business roots connected to the development of Brazilian industry.

Luiz Fernandes de Freitas · Founder and director

The story that led to Itametais began in 1980 with the experience of a family business dedicated to industrial requirements. The knowledge built through that journey became the foundation for a new venture.

In 2009, Luiz Fernandes de Freitas officially founded Itametais to support the localization of copper and bronze industrial-component manufacturing, contribute to the development of Brazilian industry and reduce dependence on imported components.

Since then, the company has expanded its structure and integrated engineering, casting, machining, special welding and quality control. It retains its family-owned character while serving projects in Brazil and abroad.

Precision machining

Cast, forged or recovered parts with control of geometries, mounting interfaces, tolerances and drawing-specified finishes.

Special welding

Copper and bronze joining, repair and assembly with procedures defined for the material, geometry and working conditions.

Engineering to drawing

Development from a drawing or sample, including reverse engineering, modelling, simulation and operating-condition assessment.

A team of 30 professionals supports one-off parts, industrial replacements, small batches and special components. Capacity for parts weighing up to 1,500 kg per unit is subject to assessment of material, geometry, manufacturing process and technical requirements.
